Ed, first let me thank you for your time and the opportunity to interview you today.  In order to get to know you a little better could you tell us about your background?

My background, and the foundation of my life, are built on simplicity.

I graduated from high school in the early 80’s and shortly thereafter I began a spiritual quest, and took to a lifestyle of faith and trust in God.  Eventually this quest led me to join a small traveling spiritual community.

The community I joined lived a lifestyle similar to that of the Buddha, or Jesus.  That is, we forsook all material things, remained celibate, never had careers, had very little money, and lived like nomads – often camping out, sometimes doing house sitting, working just enough (for cash) to supply needs within the community.

I was with that community from the age of 22 – 36. So I don’t have much of a background as far as experience in having a career, having a lot of money, owning a home, getting married or being in a relationship.

Since leaving that spiritual community in 2002 I still maintain a simple lifestyle, but I am not as extreme as I was during those 14 years.

That is a very interesting background.  What led you to become a website owner that distributes brainwave entrainment mp3’s?

In the spring of 2008 I discovered brainwave entrainment when I was searching online for meditation methods for reaching higher states of consciousness.  After studying about brainwave entrainment on my own I discovered software to create my own brainwave sessions. And, that is how I started my website (MusicMeFree.com).

Ed what is the vision you have for your website?

My website’s underlying purpose is to help others mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

What would you suggest to Help Yourself Nation members that would like to quickly create their ideal job, career or massive money generating business so they can begin doing what they love everyday?

This is a hard question because from my viewpoint we should be moving away from aiming for a career or job to support a lifestyle that is causing us to lose our health and mental/emotional balance for working for more than is really needed.

This might be a little different for people who have chosen the married life and raising children. I understand you want to give your family a comfortable lifestyle, health insurance for the children, enough food on the table and provide a great life for your family.

One of the purposes of the mp3’s I sell on my website is for experincing inner healing through the purging and healing of the sub conscious. The inner calm we eventually experience during this inner healing process is the peace and bliss of the inner self. Within our inner self is where we find wisdom for guiding our life.

When we live our life as our inner self (instead of as a fleshly entangled soul) we are more kind, more gentle, and more loving. And outwardly we make changes in our lifestyle so as to avoid wrong environment or anything that is suffocating to the bud of spiritual wisdom, guidance, and inspiration that is sprouting within us.

Do you have any tips or suggestions that Help Yourself Nation members could use to improve their relationships right now?

I have become somewhat of a hermit and recluse lately, but when I do have interactions with people I have learned there is a time to speak and a time to be silent.  And, there are also people and situations that are best to avoid interacting with.

A lot of people have a bad habit such as smoking, excessive drinking, promiscuity, or worry that they’d like to change.  Any suggestions for someone who wants to get rid of a bad habit?

What we all need in regard to overcoming bad habits is a brain change…

Hypnotherapy is one way of inducing a brain change. But meditation and spiritual awakening are number one when it comes to a “brain change”.  Listening to mp3’s or cd’s with binaural beats, isochronic tones, or even affirmations can help quicken meditation and spiritual awakening.

Ed, do you have any recommendations for Help Yourself Nation members so they can get back on track to health, happiness and abundant physical energy?

I am thankful to be blessed with good health, but realize anything can change. Life is so temporary. Whether my lifestyle choices allow me to have abundant energy and health I don’t know. But here are a few tips from personal experience.

Although I don’t eat 100% healthy all the time, nevertheless my breakfast (important meal) for the past 7 years has been water, raw oatmeal, yogurt, cottage cheese, whey protein, fruit, honey, and sometimes nuts, and dates, and I throw it all in the blender and drink it. I have mainly been surviving off that for breakfast for the past 7 years.

I have just one other meal (dinner) and it is usually very simple too. This, combined with regular exercise at the gym, has allowed me to have a similar body and energy level that I had when I was a teenager (except that I am stronger and more muscular).

Most of my life my main drink has been water, and I have avoided alcohol, and never drink coffee. I also avoided stressful situations or overworking as much as possible, and try to keep my mental and emotional energy balanced.

I am not boasting about any of this, but am speaking from personal experience. In some cases the life choices that we make are the reason why our life ends up the way it does.

If someone wants a deeper spiritual connection what would you recommend?

Try meditation and/or some form of relaxation music where you can put on headphones, lay down with eyes closed, and relax. And do this daily, and sooner or later you will begin to sense the inward call, and for an instant you will perceive the meaningless of the vicious cycle you have been caught in, and you will feel free.

But soon, the ego and emotional programming reasserts itself, and you begin to identify with all your wants and worries etc. It is a growing in consciousness process. Try it again the next day, let go, relax, and go within.

Can you share what your plans are to dive deeper into your ideal life?

As far as the spiritual side of things my dream is to develop my consciousness to become closer to God.  Because as we become closer to God our lifestyle simplifies, and we are more prepared to eventually let go, move on, rather than clinging to and hording treasures on earth.

Before we go do you have anything else to share?

I think the current economic situation is only the beginning but there is light at the end of the tunnel.  Life as we know it will not be the same. The old way of doing things is passing away. Now is the time to prepare our consciousness for something better and more lasting.

I agree Ed.  Things are changing and it feels as if it is all for the better.  Thank you for your time, honesty, candor and thoughtful answers.

Really good interview. I had no idea that Ed had lived that lifestyle for so long, I just couldn’t, it would kill me to abandon my ego and desires! But I guess everyone is different. I find that affirmations and meditations on their own cant get you very far, your brain won’t accept them until it can get to the solid sub-consious route of the problem.

Brain Entrainment pushes that problem to the surface (you have NO choice but to let go!), like a bubble arising in a stew, so it can be released and we can have more peace of mind. Brain Entrainment do work and a little secret between me and you, I think Ed does the best Brain Entrainment on the internet and for the best price. (Inner self seems to think so, and it is always right). This isn’t an add or anything, just me speaking the truth and from my heart.
